I don't have enough damage is a statement I here all the time from my customers. A major portion of the work I have done for the last 4 years has been storm restoration, which has allowed me to work with 100's of Insurance Carriers and that's no exaggeration. Most policy holders are under the impression that their roof has to be blown off by a tornado or hurricane to file a claim with their insurance company, that's just not true.
The biggest mistakes I have seen so many homeowners make is wait and refuse to get their property inspected by a contractor and insurance adjuster. The greatest cause of a roof system being replaced is wind, hail, and poor ventilation, not a hurricane. Here are some facts that may help you the next time you are offered and inspection after a significant hail and wind event.
-It takes hail about 15 seconds to damage a roof system and soft metals
This type of damage can't be seen from the ground but the effects are apparent and when you finally notice the issues the mage damage has been done. Significant hail impacts can create entry points for water that leads to far greater issues. The best thing you can do for your home and peace of mind as we go into this Spring is get a full inspection of your roof, siding, and gutters.
